Local Walk

Three weeks ago we began our Winter Walking Tours of the locality. The first place we went was Killiney Beach. When we were walking there we walked past a huge Church called Cill Ingean Léinín. When we got to the Beach everyone had to pick out a smooth rock that was the size of our palm to decorate for our Confirmation. After that people were throwing rocks in the sea and skimming them on the water. Some people stood to close to the water and got their shoes wet some got their trousers wet!!!!
Last Week we went to Cabinteely House it a stunning eighteenth-century country house. We took a tour around it. We had a tour guide, she told us loads of history of the house. Several different families have lived in the house over the years such as it's original owner Robert Nugent and his rise up the social and political ladder, as well as Joseph McGrath, revolutionary and key figure in the Irish Sweepstakes. First she started the tour in the office she told us the mat that we were standing on was quite expensive and a lot of the items were donated by film crews after filming. Then she showed us the dining room the was lots of fake food on the table but it looked really genuine.

We all can't wait to go on our next local walk.
